YOUCA is a youth movement dedicated to creating a just and sustainable future. But young people cannot do this alone. Like us, does your organisation or initiative focus on social engagement, cultural exchange, education and well-being within society, and do you see youth engagement as an essential building block? Then maybe we can do something for each other!
Realising a project together
YOUCA has a lot of projects for and by young people, where they can fully develop and take action for a sustainable and just future. For instance, this year there are the Community Connectors, three groups of young people in three cities (Ghent, Genk and Mechelen) who delve into our annual theme #quartiertransformé and set up actions for a clean, healthy and sustainable neighbourhood. As an organisation, you can join our projects and share your expertise with us and the young people or participate together with your volunteers. YOUConsultancy
Our board currently consists of 90% young people. That's a huge number! Increasingly, the question is echoing from other organisations, "we would like young people on our board too, but how do you start?" Do you wonder how we ensure that young people have a voice in every layer of our operation and how this can be done smoothly? We worked out a workshop to support organisations and companies in including young people on their boards.
Educational material
Every year, YOUCA creates with partner(s) a comprehensive curriculum around our annual theme for the schools we reach with the YOUCA Action Day. Every year, more than 500 teachers from some 200 schools use our educational offer. This is how we reach 15,000 pupils. Does your organisation have expertise in creating educational materials or content knowledge about our annual theme? Would you like to reach many schools and young people with this? Project partner
With the proceeds from the YOUCA Action Day, each year we support strong projects in Belgium and elsewhere around a central social challenge. All the projects we support are for and by young people and work for a more sustainable and just society. Together with our partners, we set up a broad informative campaign, with educational material and a project film, to inform Belgian young people about the annual theme and what it means for young people worldwide. As an organisation too, the can participate in the YOUCA Action Day. This way, you not only have a positive impact on our projects, but you also get the unique input and feedback of a young person on the functioning of your organisation.
