School exchange: welcome young people from the Peruvian Amazon at your school
The young people of Peru are arriving in our country. They will be happy to visit your school to meet the students, engage in conversation with them and explain more about the project.

Two teaching hours (100 min) per group, maximum two sessions per school
Your school is responsible for providing the necessary technical equipment (micro, laptop, project, sound system, etc) and reserving a space large enough.

The Peruvian youngsters stay in host families scattered across our country. In pairs, they travel from school to school to get your pupils excited about the YOUCA Action Day. Experience teaches us that their visit gives a huge boost to pupils' motivation to sink their teeth into their participation in the YOUCA Action Day.
Your school, too, can get a visit. The young people from Peru talk about their lives and how they work as climate activists to protect the rainforest and the planet. They share their experiences about the impact of the Amazon on their lives and how they stand up for their rights. In this way, they inspire your students. For both your pupils and the young people from Peru, this is a unique experience and a moment that cannot be missed in the preparation of the YOUCA Action Day.
Would you like to receive a visit at school? Plan your school as soon as possible. We work on the first come, first serve principle. Schools that schedule a time together will get priority. We do ask for flexibility, so that as many students as possible get the chance to meet their peers from Peru.
Book exchange at your school
- Logistics: Your school is responsible for providing the necessary technical equipment (micro, laptop, project, sound system, etc) and reserving a large enough room.
- Booking: Send an email to email hidden; JavaScript is required with some possible times.* We will schedule your school as soon as possible, but this may take some time. We may call you.
- Language: Peruvian young people speak Spanish. YOUCA will look for a volunteer interpreter for your school*. Usually this is from the translator-interpreting course.
*The times we schedule with your school are subject to the young people from Peru obtaining visas. We also encourage schools to find their own interpreter.
Your role as a YOUCA volunteer
- Co-present: As a YOUCA volunteer, would you like to play a meaningful role in this school exchange and collaborate with Peruvians? You can! Become part of the team and make the YOUCA Action Day a success together!
- Interpreter: Join the Peruvians and support as a Spanish-Dutch interpreter. An exciting and enriching experience guaranteed.
