This is how it works

Our job bank is the platform where you can go to participate. You can post vacancies there and students can apply immediately on the platform. So you have all the information in one handy overview. Payment and invoicing also take place via the job bank. So you can take part in the YOUCA Action Day with peace of mind.

Everything lined up

  • Price? Per participating student, you pay 60 euros.
  • Payment? Payment is made via the job bank. You can choose to pay immediately or afterwards. You will always receive an invoice.
  • When. 17 October 2024. Start and end times are up to you. As a guideline, we give an ordinary working day, as for other employees.
  • Age of the youngsters? Participating students are from 4th to 7th years of secondary school, on average 16 to 17 years old.
  • Insurance? The pupil is insured through the school policy as the school enters the YOUCA Action Day as an extra-muros activity. YOUCA vzw takes out additional insurance on the day for damage to entrusted equipment. Of course, you make sure the pupil follows the necessary safety measures and works under adult supervision. The insurance is offered by IC Insurance.
  • Dimona declaration? As the YOUCA Action Day is an extra-muro activity for the school, there is no need to file a Dimona declaration. The extra-muro activity provides a legal framework for the working day.
  • Safety and prevention in the workplace? Be sure to check out all the tips 'n tricks on what you as an employer can do to make the working day as safe as possible.
  • Want to register? Surf to the job board. Register as an employer and post your jobs.

This is how to select a pupil

Selecting the right apprentice for the right job, it is not always easy. We help you on your way.

  • An apprentice is not a job seeker. For many, this is the first experience of applying and writing cover letters, so keep in mind that many have not yet mastered the art of the job search.
  • Look past spelling mistakes. Spelling and grammar are important, but motivation and eagerness are even more so. A young person who is eager for a job but has weaker language skills may be a better candidate for the job you are offering.
  • Answer quickly. Young people have limited time to find a job before the YOUCA Action Day. The faster you reply, the more efficient their search will be.
  • Be aware of your own prejudices. Rather a girl in the care department than a boy? Rather a boy in the garage than a girl? Rather someone with a western-sounding name? Societal prejudices and discrimination unfortunately impact each and every one of us. Research shows that even our job board is not immune to this. However, we want everyone to find a nice job-for-a-day. A student's motivation and sense of purpose are all that matter.
